This thread serves to gather experiences from members with motherboards and how well they work with Linux(or don't at all).

Please refer kernel version and distribution with which you tested your system and provide the manufacturer and model number. Some motherboards may have problems with ACPI on some kernels but be good on others (see P5N-E SLI).

Known good AMD motherboards:
    ECS (Elitegroup Computer Systems):
      A740GM-M - AMD 740G - AM2/AM2+/AM3 - Kernel 2.6.27 (Evrsr)
      AMD690GM-M2 - AMD 690G - AM2 - Kernel 2.6.25 (Evrsr)
    Gigabyte:
      GA-MA770-DS3 - AMD 770 - AM2/AM2+/AM2 - Kernel 2.6.23 (Evrsr)
    Jetway:
      M25GT6-SG - NForce 550 - AM2 - Kernel 2.6.31 (Evrsr)

Known good Intel motherboards:
    ASUS:
      P5B Deluxe - Intel P965 - LGA 775 - Kernel 2.6.25 (Evrsr)

Known bad AMD motherboards:
    ASUS:
      M2V-X - VIA K8T890 - Broken Cool & Quiet - Kernel 2.6.25 (Evrsr)

Known bad Intel motherboards:
    ASUS:
      P5N-E SLI - Nvidia 650i - ACPI problems, crashes randomly - Only good on Kernel 2.6.16 (Evrsr)
